A monster ate my heart
Prompt: Tomoe invades Itachi's home, and forces him to hide him until his wounds heal.
Warnings: Violence and probably sex
The sky was black with smoke, the acrid air thick with ash. In the distance was the sound of drums and bells ringing, a warning to the neighboring villages and towns that the Wild fox has passed through and everything in his wake has been destroyed. It's a well known fact that demons were rampant among the land, but there were very few demons who were a true terror to human kind. Demons usually needed to be agitated in order to take the life of a human, but the fearsome fox yokai did so out of sport. He enchanted the women his otherwordly looks, and he merciless killed the men like they were game. Village after village was robbed and decimated by the demon single handedly, and no one have been able to stop him.
But today was unlike any other, they at least managed to wound the beast with a surprise attack. Though even wounded, the fox was still able to overpower them. The demon was able to escape, but being injured he couldn't advance very far. He wandered into the nearby forest, blood dripping from his arm, staining his kimono. He couldn't be found out in the open, he'll be vulnerable to attack. He just needed a place where he could rest, and regain his strength.
Walking aimlessly he managed to come across a home in the middle of nowhere. A secluded abode that someone probably found upon serendipitous means. It was either that the dweller wished to live a lifestyle in seclusion, or they were trying to stay hidden from the outside world. No matter the reason, the fox went to it, since it's closest thing to haven. He entered the home with the intent on killing anyone who's within it's walls. However, he sensed no one, and the warmth within the home relaxed him enough to rest there. If the keeper of this place was to return, he'll deal with them then. He leaned against a nearby wall, and sat on the wooden floor, his long silver hair pooling around him along with his tail. His sharp amber eyes soften, closing as he lulled himself to sleep. He knew sleep wouldn't be enough to recover his strength and heal his wounds, but he couldn't help but feel exhausted. What exactly was he inflicted with?

With a huff, he managed to pull the bucket out of the well, filled with water. He was dressed in a plan blue samue and sandals, hair in it's characteristic ponytail. The beautiful man sighed to himself as he started towards home--a decent walk, but if he hurried, he could make good time.
When he did arrive, the first thing he saw was the dotted trail of blood leading to his home, and he paused, staring down at it in surprise. Had someone injured come upon his home? Did it have to do with the demons? That thought had Itachi hurrying into his home.
The door closed--the blood dribbled along the wooden floor of his time cottage... and that's when he saw it--the long, pooling silver hair, the beautiful face--the blood, the red blood that stained the man's clothing and skin... but he wasn't a man at all, but--
He almost dropped the bucket. The bottom hit the floor loudly as he managed to keep it up right, only a little spilling as he stared at the injured creature with wide eyes. It was...
"...A fox spirit...?" He managed.

As soon as the bucket hit the floor, the water splashed onto the wooden boards, Tomoe's amber eyes open abruptly. He turned his head, regarding the human.
In a flash, he's on his feet standing behind Itachi, using his height to intimidate the retired soldier. As a clawed hand came around the other's body, and another hand gripping Itachi by the neck."...your mistake was waking me up. Now I'm in a terrible mood."
It didn't help that his wound was searing him. Those humans what did they use on him? It was something he's never witness before. It smelled of iron, and there was a flash of light and smoke sailed into the air. Now his wound wouldn't close, and blood continued to run. The fox staggered, unable to keep it's footing and dragging Itachi down with him. His grip went lax as the demon laid pitifully on the floor. His silver hair cascading along the wooden boards, his bright kimono spread against the floor. Tomoe growling at the excruciating pain within his arm.

The blood, the wound--Itachi realized what it was. It was from a musket. The wound was large and deep, but oddly beautiful, like a blossoming flower. This demon, it seemed, had entered him home for a place of solitude...
But there was no time to worry about what he was. Demon or not... Itachi slowly reached out, gathering the cloth from Tomoe's sleeve into his hand and pressing against the wound. He was a little frightened--this demon could easily, hurt him.
"...Hold still, kitsune-san."

Either case, whether the human had experience or not, he did want that fear to be instilled. He conjured a ball of fire within the ball of his hands, looking at Itachi menacingly."...if you fail, I'll burn everything down to the ground. Understand, human?"
Once they were on the same pace, the flame dissipated and Tomoe closed his palm. Trying to his best to be still, even if he wanted nothing more than to writhe in pain. He had never been inflicted with such an object before, and Tomoe wasn't sure what to expect.

"...I can only do what I can," He stated, keeping his voice level. He looked away from the youkai, concentrating on the other's wound.
After if felt the blood wasn't gushing through anymore, me moved away quickly, to the small kitchen. He threw open the bottom cabinet, tearing past a few items until he reached a box. He pulled it out, moving back over to Tomoe, free hand grabbing the handle of the bucket. He dragged it over, back on his knees beside the demon.
"Hold still. This will hurt." He wouldn't lie, lest the demon act up because he told him it 'would only sting'. Suddenly, his hand moved fast; spinning around in it's fingers a kunai. He slashed open the demon's sleeve with practice, exposing the wound. And there it was--the bullet, the large, clunky ball that stuck out against the silver-haired man's flesh. Itachi's brows furrowed. He'd never been privy to be so close to a bullet wound. That thing would have to come out.
He started by pouring water on the wound--cleaning it so he could see it better. He could push it out, but, he could also cut it out--faster, just as painful. He looked to the demon, wondering if he could tolerate any more pain.
"...I have to remove this... shrapnel... from your arm." Itachi stated, and his voice was calm, as if he had done this millions of times before. "...If you hurt me, do it after I bandage you... or you might die from blood loss, I have to cut into you in order to remove it. It is very deep inside of your arm."
He didn't wait for permission. There was a sharp slice--and Itachi popped the huge silver bullet out of his arm, covering the wound against with the sleeve to still the bleeding.
Soon, the other was dressing the wound properly, several bandages pulled tight around the demon's arm. His tea-brown, almost red eyes were concentrated on his task.

The only thing that kept him from trying to rip the metal from his arm was Itachi, kneeling next to him and trying to help him. Anytime, he could have done something stupid and direct that kunai into a vital point, but the dark haired man did not. Keeping to his word, and removing the shrapnel. When sharp edge entered, Tomoe's eyes widen a fraction, but he managed to contain himself. Human wounds were not the same for a yokai.
Tomoe watched quietly as his wound was dressed. It isn't long before his arm is bandaged up, but his kimono was in poor condition, since it was used to stop his bleeding. His arm felt much better now that the iron was out of him. But what was he to do with this human? Itachi had helped him, even if his life was in danger."...I'll spare your life for now. Since you're useful..."
That's as much of a thank you Itachi was going to get from Tomoe. Yokai didn't make it a habit to be grateful to anyone. "...I need a place to rest." He shrugged off his bloodied kimono, to reveal a plain gi underneath. His bushy tail making his appearance as he moved to stand. Tomoe is still a bit weak from the bullet.

"You shouldn't stand--" He began, but was caught off-guard by the fluffy, bushy tail that made it's appearance. His eyes widened. Now, now... now that he didn't feel as if his life was in immediate danger, the dark-haired beauty couldn't help but admire the tail and ears on the demon. He loved cats--and, while he was a fox, he still held a tail and cute ears atop his head. They were incredibly becoming. Itachi's fingers itched to touch them.
When Tomoe mentioned resting someplace.
"...I take it you mean to use my cottage as that place?" Itachi inquired as he rose to his feet. The was smaller than the demon, he had to look up as he looked over the other's body.
"...You expect me to take in a demon who broke in and threatened me in my own house so easily?"

The fox regarded the ex-soldier with an incredulous look. Was Itachi refusing to house him? His lips thinned and his ears flatten on his head."...Did I give you any indication that you could refuse me?"
Just because one of his arms were not of use, didn't mean he didn't have the use of his other. Not to mention his demonic power. He stepped closer to Itachi, his hand grabbed that pretty face. His nails slightly digging into his soft skin, treatening to scratch it."Human...you are in no position to bargain with me. Be lucky I don't kill you where you stand."

'Did I give you any indication that you could refuse me?'
So the demon would be staying anyway. He had made his stance clear--if he didn't house him, then...
Itachi's face was not one of fear of being threatened, but of exasperation as his body settled down. He was being forced to look up at the much taller demon, and his long, black ponytail hung down on his shoulder and over the floor like a loose whip. He felt as if his chin was pointing to the ceiling.
He couldn't help but let out a noise--something akin to a laugh.
"...Your attitude is terrible... it reminds me of my little brother." But didn't deny him--didn't put up any further argument of where he would be staying. Outside, the weather was getting chillier... winter was just starting to come into play, and soon all of Japan would be frozen over.

He released Itachi, allowing him to settle back into a more comfortable position. He slipped his hands into the sleeves of his gi, hiding them from view. " If you feel that way, then you should be more hospitable...lead the way."
He didn't say anymore, just fixed the human with a stern look. Tomoe did have the tendency for brattish behavior, but there was few who called him out for it. What did it matter how he behaved? There was a murderous fox in your home, wouldn't it make sense to quietly appease him?

"This is it." He gestured around. The cottage was only two rooms--this large open area, where, a corner was the kitchen, the middle his dining and living space... and in another corner, surrounded by trinkets and plants, a nesting area of sorts, where a thin futon and several blankets and pillows were piled up on the floor. The cottage had a few decorations that made it a home... but simple. Selves were common, hosting a variety of things from books to filled bottles. There was a katana mounted on the wall that seen use. A stone fireplace was close to the bed, but not dangerously so.
It was small--tiny. Truly, the cottage of a man who was humble, who did not work for others, only himself. The only other room was a storage area. There was no bathroom-- Itachi used the bathroom in an outhouse a bit away from the place, out just outside on a tree if needed... and his baths were taken in a pond not too far from there, or, in a hot spring that was about a ten minute walk away... but worth it.
Itachi crossed his arms... but it was more as if he was holing into himself. He looked the demon over.
"...I can make a fire. It's getting cold." But... he wondered how long it would take for the other to heal up. There was only one place to sleep, and he had a feeling the demon wasn't going to be sharing.

This was just minuscule in comparisons to that luxury. Everything so cramped into one space, he wondered how this simple human didn't get claustrophobic. Tomoe only reacted when Itachi mentioned creating a fire. He huffed, such effort was not needed in his presence. He merely summoned a will o' wisp within the stone lantern, starting the blaze. The temperature in the room shifting quickly due to his magical flame.
Though it didn't stop there, the kitsune's magic seem to spreading throughout the abode, seeping into the walls and floorboards. Sinking into the very foundation of the cottage and rising into the roof. And before Itachi's very eyes the space began to extend, the walls stretching farther than their previous state. Creating a bigger space more fitting for his stay. Although the interior had changed, distorted by the fox's magic, the outside remained the same. Still perceived as small, only to be deceived by the size within.
Instead of two rooms, there was now several of them. A room for a kitchen, another for living space and another for bedding. Although, the bathroom Tomoe could do nothing about since he didn't require it's usage, and he had no vices against bathing in a lake.
He threw a smug look over to Itachi as he made his way over to the once thin futon which has become more plush and larger. Sitting himself among the blankets and pillows, which have also been greatly embellished by his enchantments. "I suppose this will do."
There was still only one place to sleep, however.
